SUNCOAST RACQUET CLUB

Dear tennis enthusiast:

 This website is meant to familiarize you with the Suncoast Racquet Club, its mission, rules and programs. Take the time to browse through the information and to get to know us.

 The Suncoast Racquet Club is a non-profit organization, managed and operated by volunteers, financed primarily by its members, and intended for the enjoyment of the members and the entire Sunshine Coast community. The Club has its origins in 1991, when a few tennis enthusiasts started playing at the rented Wakefield “bubble”. As this facility was past its prime and the land was used for a housing development, the Club was without a home by 2004. Since then a group of very dedicated people drove the creation of the new tennis centre next to the Sechelt ice arena. Many, including the Club members, local businesses and the town of Sechelt, from whom the land is being leased, contributed to make this indoor community tennis facility a reality in 2008. The entire community is now reaping the benefits of this great accomplishment.

 The Club has a varied membership in terms of member age and playing calibre. A coach is available to provide lessons and clinics for all levels of players. Ladders, leagues and tournaments allow the competitive crowd to test their skills, and numerous social events, such as regular drop-in play, pizza nights, BBQs, provide the opportunity to mingle and enjoy each others company. Our programs put great emphasis on kids and youth to make this great sport available to our youngsters.

 So, for those who are not yet part of our Club, join us and enjoy our new community tennis center, and to our members, ensure that you utilize our beautiful courts as much as you can, join in on the fun and enjoy being part of the Club.
